HSE Cracks Down on Dangerous Construction Sites in Shropshire

The HSE issued 15 prohibition notices during a round of inspections in Shropshire. The visits had the following aims:
stopping dangerous practices on construction sites;
raising awareness in relation to construction site risks; and
preventing unnecessary injuries and deaths.
Although the Shropshire area was not responsible for any of the construction industry deaths during 2008/09, 64 people were injured.

A Glasgow based security firm, were fined £7,000 following the death of one of their security guards from carbon monoxide poisoning on a construction site in Hamilton.
